17th & 18th September 2022
EVENTING NORTH YORKSHIRE
Our 30 acre Dressage area is located at the north end of our venue site on well drained old pasture away from too many distractions.
The warm-up area has plenty of space for lunging and warming-up.
Our arenas were graded ‘excellent’ and ‘nice and flat’ by ERA.
They were Vertidrained in the spring.
There is a good Disabled Viewing Area with parking.
The Show Jumping Arena forms the central hub of our event . The large grass arena is overlooked by our large Sponsor’s Marquee on one side, and the Score Marquee and some of our catering and tradestands on the other two sides.
Competitors described it as having ‘ good ground and very atmospheric’, and a good-sized warm-up.
The SJ Course designer and builder is Tracy Barraclough and her team.
Our local pony Club York and Ainsty (North) make up the SJ Arena Party.
The arena was Vertidrained this spring.
Ian Stark has designed the Cross-Country courses to encourage forward riding, and to be varied and educational. The four courses run through extensive parkland and wooded areas, with natural features of the rolling landscape used to enhance a variety of bold jumps and combinations with changes every year.
BE100 and novice tracks re designed by Rob McSkimming to be educational and a fair test, particularly for riders aiming to upgrade their horses in the future. The Intermediate track is open and flowing with a good variety of fences. The Advanced course is designed to build experience and as a preparation for International events.

Event Rider Masters
This season sees the start of the Novice Masters, the Novice Masters class will create a new regional goal for riders, and Allerton Park horse Trials has been selected as one of the well established venues to hold the class for 2021.
A bespoke dressage test has been designed specifically for this class which will take part in a 20x60m arena where competitors can wear a tailcoat if they choose, all making this more of a special occasion.
We hope that this new series is a huge success and that it can continue to grow in 2022 and beyond.
